The operator is consistently protected during biopsy handling by an efficient backdraft aspiration system that captures fumes and prevents chemical exposure. UltraCENTER also features a shatterproof glass safety shield to guard against splash hazards. A dedicated compartment safely stores the used formalin tank, with fumes removed via the backdraft system. The control panel allows the operator to:
- Receive LED and sound alerts for formalin tank replacement (via integrated scale)
- Track filter lifespan and receive alerts when filters expire (if present)
- Monitor motor (if present), ventilation, and lighting status

Documentation and traceability are paramount in any modern laboratory, and UltraCENTER meets these requirements with its state-of-the-art macro digital documentation system, MacroPATH. The built-in high-resolution camera and microphone allow for capturing images, videos, and audio, while the vast suite of editing tools ensures the ability to estimate sizes and areas or add notes.
Automatic Cassette Documentation
Pathology labs handle numerous biopsies daily and documenting their preparation is often a time-consuming task performed without adequate tools. C-Scan (optional) for MacroPATH completely automatizes this step, ensuring better workflow and superior traceability. The operator simply places the cassette with biopsy under the laser. C-Scan automatically reads the cassette’s code, opens the case ID folder, and takes a picture at a preset zoom.
